Targa Exploration Highlights Discovery-Driven Gold Pipeline with New Quebec Find and Argentine Prospects

Targa Exploration Corp. (CSE: TEX; OTCQB: TRGEF; FRA: V6Y) is advancing a portfolio of early-stage gold projects in Quebec and Argentina, with recent results from its flagship Opinaca project underscoring the potential for new discoveries. The company highlighted its exploration pipeline in a recent BTV CEO Clips video featuring CEO Cameron Tymstra.

The Opinaca project, located in northern Quebec, produced a new gold discovery during its maiden 2025 drill program. Drilling intersected gold mineralization in seven of eight holes, prompting a follow-up program. Targa is currently conducting 4,400 meters of drilling across 11 holes, with completion expected by mid-September. This initial success at Opinaca could signal a significant new gold system in a region known for major deposits, such as those owned by Newmont and other producers.

Beyond Quebec, Targa is building a discovery pipeline in Santa Cruz, Argentina, a prolific mining district. The company recently completed the first-ever drill program at its El Zanjon project, where results are pending. Additionally, Targa is advancing the earlier-stage Venidero project, with target identification planned for potential drilling in 2027. These projects are part of a strategy focused on taking calculated early-stage exploration risks in established mining jurisdictions.

“We are excited about the discovery at Opinaca and the potential to expand it with the current drill program,” said CEO Cameron Tymstra in the video. “Our team is dedicated to systematically exploring our projects to unlock value for shareholders.”

Targa’s approach is discovery-driven, aiming to generate high-impact results through grassroots exploration. By focusing on underexplored areas in mining-friendly regions, the company seeks to emulate the success of major gold discoveries that have transformed junior explorers into significant producers. The Opinaca discovery, if expanded, could place Targa on a similar trajectory.

The company’s portfolio also includes options to earn up to 80% equity in the Venidero and El Zanjon gold-silver projects in Argentina. These assets provide additional upside and diversification. With drilling underway at Opinaca and El Zanjon, Targa is executing on multiple fronts to advance its most promising targets.

Investors and industry observers are watching Targa’s progress closely, as successful exploration can lead to substantial re-ratings for junior mining companies. The results from the current drill programs are expected to be released in the coming months, and they will be critical in determining the next steps for the company.
