Student-athletes across Georgia will have increased access to performance nutrition education and post-competition recovery resources this school year as The Dairy Alliance brings its Milk's Got Game campaign back to high school athletics. The initiative, which will run throughout the fall, winter, and spring sports seasons, is designed to teach athletes, coaches, and families about the role real dairy can play in hydration, recovery, and overall nutrition.
At the center of the campaign is a partnership with the Georgia High School Association, which will help integrate Milk's Got Game directly into high school sports communities. The collaboration includes digital performance nutrition programming, championship materials, and on-site activations. These efforts are intended to give student-athletes practical, science-based information about fueling their bodies before, during, and after competition.
The Dairy Alliance will highlight milk's naturally occurring electrolytes for hydration, complete protein to support muscle recovery, and essential nutrients that contribute to strong bones and sustained energy. At select state championship events, the organization will host on-site activations and provide chocolate milk to participating teams following competitions. The recovery-focused experience is meant to give athletes an opportunity to refuel while reinforcing the nutritional benefits of real dairy at some of the most significant moments of their athletic journeys.
A new element this year will bring dairy farmers into championship celebrations. Local farmers will present chocolate milk to teams, a gesture intended to strengthen the connection between farm families and the communities they serve. By participating directly in these events, farmers can help showcase the nutritional value of the milk they produce and celebrate the role of real dairy in supporting student-athlete performance. The presence of farmers at championships also offers a visible reminder of the local roots behind the products athletes consume.
The campaign is encouraging athletes, families, and fans across Georgia to mark National Chocolate Milk Day on September 27 with a chocolate milk toast. The observance serves as a simple way to recognize chocolate milk as a familiar favorite with nutritional benefits, including complete protein and naturally occurring electrolytes that support hydration and recovery for active lifestyles. The toast is designed to kick off the high school athletic season while drawing attention to the broader message of Milk's Got Game.
From the start of the season through championship celebrations, the initiative will continue to bring performance-focused dairy nutrition to high school athletics across Georgia. The goal is to help athletes make informed nutrition choices while celebrating the people and communities behind the game. The campaign's combination of education, on-site engagement, and farmer involvement reflects a broader effort to connect nutrition science with the everyday realities of student-athletes and their supporters.
