tZERO Expanding Regulated Infrastructure to Derivatives with CFTC Introducing Broker Approval

tZERO Group, Inc., a leader in blockchain-based financial infrastructure, announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, tZERO Introducing Broker, LLC, has completed its CFTC registration as an introducing broker and NFA member. This approval enables tZERO to provide infrastructure for regulated derivative products, including event contracts on its forthcoming multi-asset platform.

As an introducing broker, tZERO will be able to solicit and accept customer orders for CFTC-regulated derivatives and pass those orders to a Designated Contract Market or Futures Commission Merchant for execution and clearing on a fully disclosed basis. Initially, tZERO plans to use this license to offer event contracts, which are derivatives that pay out based on the occurrence of specified future events.

“The launch of tZERO Introducing Broker is another example of our strategy to expand our market-leading, vertically integrated infrastructure stack for tokenized securities horizontally to a range of CFTC-regulated products,” said Alan Konevsky, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of tZERO. “We are building trusted, regulated and independent infrastructure that enables institutions and investors to participate in an expanding range of financial markets through a seamless client experience and back-end interoperability.”

This approval represents another step in tZERO’s broader derivatives strategy, following the company’s previously announced applications for Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO) registrations. By expanding its regulated platform, tZERO aims to connect traditional and emerging financial markets through technology-driven solutions.

The event contracts tZERO intends to offer are fully collateralized, meaning losses are limited to the amount paid, but they involve substantial risk and are not suitable for every investor. Pricing can move quickly and unpredictably, and there is no assurance of liquidity. The regulatory treatment of event contracts continues to evolve and may vary by jurisdiction, with additional risks for those tied to digital assets.

tZERO Group, Inc. and its broker-dealer subsidiaries provide an innovative liquidity platform for private companies and assets, offering institutional-grade solutions for digitizing capital tables through blockchain technology. All technology services are offered through tZERO Technologies, LLC. For more information, visit their website.
