UGI Utilities, Inc. announced a smaller-than-expected increase in the purchased gas cost rate, effective December 1, 2025. As a result, the average residential heating customer receiving gas supply from UGI will see their total bill increase by 0.9%, raising their total average monthly bill from $118.43 to $119.49.
The increase reflects higher costs for natural gas in the wholesale market, which utilities are required by law to pass directly through to customers without markup. UGI noted that the increase is lower than initially anticipated, providing some relief for consumers heading into the winter heating season.
UGI recognizes that some customers may have difficulty paying their heating bills. The company offers several assistance programs for those with limited or fixed incomes. Customers can visit UGI's customer assistance page or call 1-800-UGI-WARM to determine eligibility. UGI can also assist eligible customers in applying for federally funded Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) grants when the application process opens on December 3.
To help manage bill payments, UGI offers budget billing, multiple payment options through its online account center and app, and an auto-pay program. The company also encourages customers to use energy wisely and make efficiency improvements in their homes.
