Verizon today announced the launch of the Gizmo Watch 4, the latest addition to its Verizon Family ecosystem. Designed to provide parents with peace of mind, the smartwatch introduces advanced safety features including Watch Removal Detection alerts, real-time location insights, and real-time severe weather notifications (coming soon). The device is available starting today, with a promotion offering it for free with a new line through September 3, 2026.
The Gizmo Watch 4 was developed with input from real parents to address common concerns about children's safety and independence. It functions as an invisible safety net, allowing kids freedom without exposure to social media or unfiltered web browsers. Key safety features include real-time location tracking, custom safe zones, watch removal alerts, and a distraction-free school mode. Guardians can add up to 40 trusted contacts, blocking strangers from contacting the child.
Durability and performance have been enhanced with a water-resistant design and a 1.6-inch scratch-resistant glass screen. A faster processor and a battery lasting up to three days support high-quality video calling on Verizon's network. The watch integrates seamlessly with the Verizon Family app, enabling centralized management of safety and wellness features. Additional tools include step counters, to-do lists, and kid-friendly educational content.
Verizon is also making the device more affordable through its loyalty program. By enrolling via the My Verizon app, customers can avoid activation and upgrade fees. Additionally, Verizon Shine offers weekly chances to win experiences and daily drops such as concert tickets, merchandise, dining vouchers, and gift cards.
