VinFast and GSM have announced new leadership appointments, with Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh becoming CEO of VinFast Global and Mr. Pham Nhat Minh Hoang becoming CEO of GSM Global. The changes, effective immediately, see Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh succeed Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, while Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan assumes the role of Chairman of GSM Global, succeeding Ms. Pham Thu Huong. These transitions are part of Vingroup's broader strategy to cultivate in-house talent and delegate leadership to a younger generation as its companies scale globally.

The leadership shake-up comes at a critical juncture for both VinFast and GSM. VinFast, Vietnam's leading electric vehicle manufacturer, currently operates in 16 countries, including key markets such as Vietnam, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Its electric cars and motorcycles are produced at four facilities across Vietnam, Indonesia, and India. GSM, which operates the Green SM electric taxi brand, is present in seven countries and plans to expand into at least three more markets within the year. The company also aims to list its shares on an international stock exchange, a move that would significantly boost its global profile and access to capital.

The appointments are more than routine personnel changes; they reflect a strategic shift to address the demanding requirements of the next phase of development. Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh, born in 1993, holds a Bachelor's degree from Singapore Management University and has held key leadership positions at VinFast and other Vingroup companies. He was appointed Chairman of VinFast Global in May 2026 and will now hold ultimate responsibility for all VinFast operations. In addition to his new roles, he will continue as CEO of VinMetal Trading and Production JSC, a high-quality steel manufacturer within the Vingroup ecosystem. His combined responsibilities underscore the emphasis on integrated management and cross-sector synergy.

Mr. Pham Nhat Minh Hoang, born in 2000, brings a diverse background to his new role as CEO of GSM Global and GSM Vietnam. He has held senior leadership positions at VinFast, Green Future, VinSmart Future, and GSM, and has invested in and serves as a major shareholder of several industrial, technology, energy, and infrastructure companies within Vingroup, including VinSpeed, VinEnergo, VinMetal, VinVentures, and robotics companies. His appointment signals a focus on innovation and diversification as GSM seeks to scale its green mobility solutions and transition into a publicly listed entity.

The leadership transitions are likely to have significant implications for the competitive landscape of electric vehicles and green mobility. With younger leaders at the helm, VinFast and GSM are poised to accelerate their international expansion and deepen their impact on the global transition to sustainable transportation. As VinFast continues to penetrate markets in Europe and North America, and GSM expands its electric taxi services, the new leadership will be tasked with navigating complex regulatory environments, supply chain challenges, and intense competition. Moreover, the move aligns with Vingroup's long-term vision of building a self-sustaining ecosystem of talented leaders capable of driving growth across its diverse portfolio.
