Vingroup Launches VERTA International School to Prepare Students for an AI-Driven World

Vingroup has announced the establishment of VERTA International School, a new K-12 educational model designed for a generation growing up in the age of artificial intelligence. The school, located at 148 Giang Vo, Hanoi, is scheduled to open in August 2027 with a maximum capacity of 800–1,000 students. Admissions for the first academic year begin in October 2026, initially welcoming approximately 400 students from Grades 1 to 11. This development signals a significant shift in Vietnam's education landscape, as it directly addresses the need for a curriculum that prepares students not just for exams, but for a future where AI will transform how we learn, work, and create.

VERTA's educational philosophy is built on three guiding principles: Learn. Make. Matter. The Learn principle focuses on building strong academic foundations while encouraging students to think independently and learn through experience. The curriculum offers depth in mathematics, science, languages, social studies, and the arts, expanding in upper grades to include AI and Advanced Computing, Engineering, Biomedical Science, Entrepreneurship, and Advanced Placement courses. This interdisciplinary approach aims to help students connect knowledge across fields and address problems from multiple perspectives. The Make principle emphasizes turning understanding into capability, with students applying what they learn to create tangible outcomes that can be tested and improved. The Matter principle encourages students to apply their capabilities to create value by addressing meaningful problems and connecting learning with the real world.

Ms. Phan Ha Thuy, Chairwoman of VS Company, the Vingroup entity developing VERTA, said: "VERTA aims to equip students with the strong academic foundations needed to pursue demanding university pathways, while developing their ability to conduct research, reason, design and turn ideas into tangible outcomes; use AI and technology to extend their thinking; and tackle problems without predefined solutions." This underscores the school's commitment to producing graduates who are not just knowledgeable but also adaptable and responsible.

The school will be led by Dr. Tarek Razik, an international educator with more than 35 years of experience, who previously led Jakarta Intercultural School and the International School of Beijing. VERTA's program will be taught in English, following a U.S.-oriented educational approach. In the early years, teachers will take a more active role, gradually shifting to greater student ownership as they mature. This model is designed to foster independent learning and critical thinking, skills that are increasingly vital in an AI-driven world.

VERTA's launch is significant because it represents a strategic move by Vingroup to diversify its educational portfolio, which already includes Vinschool, Brighton College Vietnam, Vin Nexus Center, and VinUniversity. By integrating AI and technology into the curriculum from an early age, VERTA aims to develop students who can harness these tools to expand what they can do, solve problems, and create value for others. This is not just about adding coding classes; it's about fundamentally rethinking how education can prepare students for a future where AI is ubiquitous. The emphasis on real-world application, through Vingroup's wider ecosystem spanning higher education, research, healthcare, technology, industry, green mobility, and urban development, provides distinctive opportunities for students to engage with authentic problems and experts.

For Vietnamese and international families in Hanoi, VERTA offers a new educational option that combines academic rigor with practical skills and character development. As AI continues to reshape industries, the demand for graduates who can think critically, collaborate, and innovate will only grow. VERTA's focus on independent thinking and the ability to use AI to extend human potential positions it as a potential model for future-ready education in the region.
