With a 23 lb aluminum frame and a total weight of 35 lb including wheels and leg rests, the U32 aims to reduce the physical strain often associated with traditional manual wheelchairs, particularly in home environments and during transport.
For many families, a wheelchair is not just for medical appointments or occasional outings; it becomes an integral part of daily life. Moving between rooms, transferring from bed to chair, loading into a car trunk, navigating narrow hallways, and helping a loved one stay involved in family routines are common tasks. The U32 addresses these needs with a lightweight foldable frame, quick-release rear wheels, adjustable caregiver handles, flip-up armrests, swing-in/out footrests, and a safety-focused braking system.

Quick-release rear wheels add further portability by allowing the wheels to be removed for tighter storage. This design is especially practical for caregivers who regularly load and unload the wheelchair or for users who want to bring it along on outings.
Transfers are a critical aspect of wheelchair use, and the U32 includes flip-up armrests and swing-in/out footrests to create a clearer path when moving from a bed, sofa, car seat, or toilet. Height-adjustable armrests and adjustable footplates allow users to customize the fit, while a 17.7" wide by 17" deep seat with a breathable cushion supports comfort during extended use.
Caregiver handling is a key focus. The rear push handles offer four height adjustments, from about 37" to 40.5", accommodating caregivers of different statures. A rear stepper tube helps tilt the wheelchair when navigating small curbs or obstacles. The U32 also provides dual braking: user-operated hand brakes on the main wheels and caregiver-operated handle brakes on the push handles, giving both parties greater control.
Safety features include rear reflectors for visibility in low light, a safety belt to secure the user, an anti-tip device to reduce backward tipping risk, and a reinforced Double-X Base frame for stability. The narrow frame, with an overall width below 25.6 inches, facilitates movement through standard doorways and tight corridors.
The U32 is suitable for a variety of scenarios: moving between rooms at home, doctor appointments, family visits, community outings, car transfers, and short trips. It supports both assisted movement by caregivers and self-propelled movement on appropriate surfaces.
